      Guide to Picture List

September 2006 Photos (This section includes typical family pictures of birthdays, kids, relatives, even pets and cars, and so forth.)

Here are a few shortcuts to some of the most interesting groups of photos in this section:

      Jacob's 15 birthday.
Sarah's sexy dress.(This whole sexy dress business got started because we had to find Sarah something appropriate to wear to an upscale wedding held after 6:00 P.M. The etiquette books say that the little basic black dress is what is called for.)
Jacob and the Manna Monday Band.
      Sarah's 13th Birthday.
      Shad and Natalie's Studio Party.
Shad and Natalie's Wedding Reception. (Attendance at this reception was estimated to be 700-900 people. The wedding was at Our Lady of the Valley, a very posh, heavily Italian parish. The reception was held in OLV's gigantic parish hall. Papa Verciglio had the caterers from his gracery store chain serving everything from chicken, ham, and turkey to kibbee. There were four wine and beer bars, one in each corner of the room. Altogether there were approximately 35 uniformed caterers, waiters, bartenders, and busboys working this occasion. There was live music by one of the hottest club bands in the Birmingham area.)

September is a very busy month. This photo essay on September 2006 will, therefore, be incomplete. For example, I didn't get a chance to take pictures at our dinner party in early September. Patsy and Rhodes Watkins, Harry and Jeannie Bradford, and Carol and I had a marvelous evening together in early September, but I was not allowed to take pictures.

      Jacob's 15th birthday.

Here is Taylor Wiggins, Jacob's "very special friend" beginning around the time Jacob and she were in the eighth grade. Taylor also is Sarah's friend since they were both taking dance at Miss Beverly's. This picture was made during Jacob's 15th birthday party.

Blowing out the candles on the Jacob's 15th birthday cake. (Actually this was the second cake. Before we could do the candle thing with the first cake, Jacob, Jonathan, and Christian got up in the middle of the night and ate Cake #1.)

Mario the Mafia Cat is really a wise guy, so he thinks he's dangerous. Here he is trying to look scary.
Mario thinks he owns the world. Here he is getting ready to take a nap in one of Carol's nice trays.
Mario is a bad influence on Freckles. Here Freckles is climbing on the furniture just like Mario does.

      Sarah's Sexy Dress

Here is Sarah on her way to go shopping at the Summit.
Sarah's first stop at the Summit? Coconuts, the music CD store.
Next stop? Anthropologie, a very expensive boutique, where Miss Sarah tried on clothes and shot pictures of herself in the dressing room.
Another view of Sarah trying on the dress.
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, Jacob is up and ready to go to high school.
Gloomy and tired-looking, at 5:45 A.M. Jacob's dad is struggling to get up and go to work.
3:45 P.M., and Jake and Sarah are walking home from the school bus stop.

      Shad and Natalie's Studio Party

On 23 September 2006 there was a party at the studio for Shad (Sarah's dance teacher) and his bride-to-be Natalie. Here are a couple of "Shad's girls" at the party.
Here's Kennally (Shad's Niece)at the party as she shows she thinks she is already a big girl like Sarah and Jill.
Here's Natalie Verciglio and Shad Simpson at the studio party celebrating their up-coming marriage. The wedding will be one week after this party at Our Lady of the Valley, a really posh church. Verciglio? The ones who own Piggly Wiggly? I'll ask at a tactful time.
