UMBACH, GEORGE - I have a relative who was a Hessian soldier. His name was George Umbach (or the later spelling of Umbaugh). Born May 8, 1752 to Johann Heinrich Umbach at Balhorn, Hesse-Kassel, Germany.

This information means nothing to me because it is all rather vague. Apparently he came to America as a soldier in 1776. The information I have is from a book written by another relative whom I do not know named, Kenneth Umbaugh. I'd like to know more and verify his work.

Does anyone have any other information on this person. Thanks for all your consideration.
